The May 4th Chorus Competition of the School of Physics and Electronic Science in 2025 came to a successful conclusion in the new era of striving and forging ahead with youthful dreams

Recently, the "Youth Dreaming in the New Era, Striving Forward at the Right Time" May 4th Chorus Competition of the School of Physics and Electronic Science was grandly held in the Shuhui Hall Lecture Hall of Changqing Lake Campus. Seventeen teams from the 2023 and 2024 grades competed on the same stage, expressing their patriotic feelings with resounding songs, carrying forward the May 4th spirit with vivid performances, and playing the symphony of The Times with the enthusiasm of their youth.

At the competition site, Xie Deren, the Party Secretary of the college, Du Wei, the Deputy Party Secretary, Fang Fang, the Secretary of the Youth League Committee and Director of the Student Affairs Office, and all the counselors were present. More than 300 undergraduate and postgraduate students were present to watch the competition and witness this grand event of youth. Over 2,000 teachers and students witnessed this grand event of youth online through the college's official wechat video account.

The entire game was full of excitement and climaxes. The red song chorus "Defend the Yellow River" performed by Class 2302 of the Physics Department was grand and powerful. The resounding and forceful singing seemed to take the audience back to the war-torn years. The song "Ode to the Motherland" by Class 2403 of the Physics Department, accompanied by the melodious sounds of the violin and electronic organ, echoed in everyone's ears. Class 2301 of the Optoelectronic Department interpreted the indomitable attitude of youth with the popular song "Running" and dynamic formation changes. The Internet of Things training class demonstrated an international perspective with the English song "Counting Stars" and won rounds of applause. The on-site audience sang along to the melody in unison, while the online alumni audience interacted remotely, spreading blessings across Spaces.

After a fierce competition, Class 2401, Class 2404 and Class 2304 of Physics Undergraduate stood out and won the first prize. Six classes including Physics Book 2402 won the second prize, and eight classes including Physics Book 2303 won the third prize.

This event is a vivid practice of our college's "Red Culture Education Project". Students of the School of Physics and Electrical Engineering used songs as a medium and integrated various presentation forms such as recitation and dance to relive the glorious years of the Party and sing the praises of the prosperity and strength of the motherland. The college will continue to explore the deep integration of aesthetic education and ideological and political classes, inspire the majority of students to actively participate in campus cultural activities, carry forward the May 4th spirit, and sing the strongest note of the great rejuvenation of the nation with their youthful selves.
